Im back to share a Tip.

Well it has been a couple months since my last Blog post and i apologise for this but my life has gotten very busy. My Nana was diagnosed with aggressive Lymphoma and it is right through her body so i have been running back and forth to the city for visits and to help out where i can (i live 300km from the hospital). Also the whole family has just had a bug and it kept me busy looking after sick kids and then i came down with it so my Blog has been a little neglected.

Also in all this i was offered a place to go to one of the few Workshops Tim Holtz is running while he is here in Australia so travel plans had to be made so i could get there. 6 days to go!!!! I will be posting Pics and tips that i learn while im there so stay tuned.

Now on to the reason i decided to post. I was on FB and a lady was telling us about the fantastic way she stores her stickles and liquid pearls. She has stuck a velcro strip to the underside of the shelf in front of her workspace and has put velcro dots to the bottom of the bottles and stores them upside down which helps reduce air bubbles and makes it so the liquid is already to go when u need it. I thought this was a great idea also for storage reasons you can now also use the underside of your shelves which if you like me you need all the storage space you need. Woohoo i will be doing this later this arvo after i have acquired some velcro!! Thanks for the GREAT idea Vanessa Biela. Pictures to be posted once it is done.

Scrappy-go-Lucky Strut Your Cuts Challenge

Well I finally managed to get a Strut your cuts challenge finished!! Yay.
All cuts were made on my Sizzix eClips.
I have used my Basic Shapes cartridge to cut the circles and scallop circle, the Edges cartridge to cut the scallop border edge and im assuming that the eCAL software is the equivilent of the Gypsy so i have used a swirl of of the preloaded shapes for the stems of the flowers and the Comic Sans MS font for the title words.

My First Imaginisce Challenge

This is my first attempt at the Imaginisce Monthly Challenge.
Products used are:
3 Imaginisce papers: Little Cutie- Snips & Snails, Little Man & Baby Powder- Bouncing baby Boy
3 types of embelishments: I-Rock Rhinestuds Silver and Blue, I-Top 22mm brad created from Bouncing Baby Boy paper & Ribbon- Generic blue satin.
Only non Imaginisce products were the Bazzill Card stock and ribbon.
I have used a 7x5" photo on the layout and have cut the star, teddy, wagon and title from the little man paper, hand drew the tabs on the side of the photo matt and cut out. I also created a rosette from the Tim Holtz rosette die using the Baby powder paper and drew some stiching around the edges of the base page.
I decided not to vear away from the scetch too much as it my first challenge with Imaginisce.
Not too bad for my first attempt and i didnt have a lot of imaginisce products to work with as there are not to many suppliers here in Australia that i have found.

Monday 13 February 2012

Well its been a few days since my last post so i thought i had a few minutes spare so im getting to number 3. Tip 3. I have had some trouble with my mists blocking up and not spraying and i have decided to use a separate nozzle to spray all my mists with and just wash out after each use. So this is my tip, buy a spare spray nozzle to use on your mists and clean it out between each use so that it doent have a chance to block up!! Happy Misting. :)

Tip 2

Well technically this is 2 tips in one!!!
One of the photo worlds worst enemies is the finger print!! Part one of the tip is: to reduce the effect of finger prints print out all your photos on matte paper this way the finger prints don't show up in general handling conditions BUT if you prefer to print on gloss paper, second part of the tip: always have a new (one that has never been used) glasses cleaning cloth handy and use it just for cleaning photos. This works a treat!! If you try and use a used cloth you will end up with smudges from the oils and dirt that accumulates on a used cloth and no matter how much you clean it, it will never clean as good as a new cloth.
Mwuhahaha to finger prints!!! :D Happy Crafting!!

Day 2 and My First Tip.

Well its day 2 of my blog and i think i am finally happy with the placement of all the titles!!

Time to get some tips for you all to read!! I know its one you have all heard before but in my book its the most important rule of scrapbooking. TIP 1. Measure twice cut once!!! Too many of us get caught up in the moment and before we know it we have cut the piece too small!!! Agrh and unfortunately we cant cut it bigger. So please always try to remember to double check your measurements before you cut!!!!
